Thanks @haknuts It was worth watching that clip to see the "tool roll" that keeps all of the pot legs, wrench etc from rolling about in the carrying case. Does that come as standard? regards John
If you have access to someone with the right tools, a customized riser tube could be made. Then you can fit almost any burner to any tank. But beware of overheating the tank with a bigger burner. I'd really would like to see a Manaslu 96 with a Radius 4/37 burner. I have the burner but not the tank. Bjørn
@haknuts your question piqued my interest. Frankenstoves are such fun. Here are some alternatives. If the photos are in any way inappropriate the moderators can move them. I have a virgin Manaslu 96 and the tank was used to test how the different burners fitted. I used riser tube # 2011 for Opt 207. For the 4/37 #2014 was used. Both came from Base Camp. The Phoebus 625 E uses a customized burner riser from Loco7stove. All three had a good fit to the tank connection on my 96 and I could pressurise the tank. Apart from the 4/37 the two regulated burners looked to big for the small tank. And then if you want to cook with your Frankenstove you need potlegs. The last photo shows my Frankenstove model 00 R.
As stated above, not without custom modifications, either: The riser would have to be modified to keep the legs the same length; Or the legs would need re-worked to suit the new burner configuration. Alec.
Thank you all! Primus 96' are avaliable, but the state of the raisertubejet and missing parts could be a problem. The Manaslu 96 burner is somewhat taller, but what if you mix that burner with the Manasly potstands? A possible nice way to preserve the soul of those P96' and still having a more usable stove?
Hi, the silent burner which was used on the No.4 stoves is the same height as the roarer used on the Pr.210 and Op.00 type stoves: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/one-of-the-best-stoves-primus-n-ever-made.5592/#post-49989 Best Regards, Kerophile.
While you guys were asleep (?), I had to act on this one. I know it isnt much but nor was the asking price. So the idea is to fettle this into a functional Frankenstove, preferable with parts (Manaslu 96 burner & potstands?) that maintain its miniature appearence. Come Christmas I may find out myself, granted that Santa agrees.
@haknuts If you want a 200 type roarer burner on this 96 tank then Base Camp has Manaslu burners at GBP 40. Then Fogas has a 200 type roarer http://www.fogas.se/shop/2741---fotogenbraennare/ that is cheaper. Maybe made in India ? Anyhow you need to have an adapter made to fit a burner to the 96 tank. And potlegs at the correct length. Good luck. Bjørn
Hi, If you can braze these two items together you could add a spirit cup and burner, you are then in business: 2014 Rising tube for OOL £ 5.95 GBP 2048 Reserve lid for 96 £4.75 GBP http://www.base-camp.co.uk/Optimus.html Best Regards, Kerophile.

I went down the Primus 96 route HERE, reworking a worn-out/stress-cracked lipstick. Previously I used a special adapter made by BernieDawg HERE but since components are relatively easy to obtain I have used commonly available risers as threaded inserts and silver soldered them instead. The Manaslu route would be easier using the riser mentioned by Bjorn in Post #24, make up legs from dissimilar welding rods/etc if need be. Why don't you want to use a lipstick though? If it's in good order you can get years of service out of them? I began playing with my '24 P96 because the lipstick was ruined and the burner bell had disintegrated from decades of heavy use. The No.0/No.4 Burners are more powerful than the 96 lipstick and make a nice change but they just burn more fuel. @Ed Winskill trialled his Manaslu 96 and found it a little thirsty for meals. I use mine for brewing tea and quick meals on the hop, but I always carry a small fuel bottle for topping-off after each use. It's a compromise, yes it's smaller but you have to carry extra fuel. It doesn't bother me and suits my requirements Alec.
@kerophile Thank you! I now see that the question of adapting other burners to the P96 is well debated. There is much reading ahead...
It may save me answering questions if you read the whole post on the 96 specials https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/a-quartet-of-96-specials.14446/ Regards Bryan
Could anyone help me measure the length of the P96's lipstick (from underneath the nutgrip to the top)?
