Just received this in the mail. I had thought it was fettled but it is a unfired one. It came with its instructions. I purchased it because it's Australian. Have a thing about Ausey stuff. Cheers Rob
I checked it out , pumps and no leaks, gave it the soapy water test. The jet hisses. So all good but with others to light I may leave this one. Cheers Rob
@Robert Bruce I think the Quick Boils are a good looking stove and yours is in excelent condition. Congratulations.
My question also, Murph. He was mainly a lampie, but I don't think he has been on CPL for a long time. But I feel sure that someone on CCS or CPL said that they had contact with him sometime in the last year or two. His virtual Handi Museum is here.
@Murph & @shagratork I bought some stuff from Handi Albert via eBay over a year ago. I passed his contact information on to @Doc Mark. Cheers Tony
Morning, @Murph ,@shagratork , and @Tony Press , Sorry to be late on this one. Been working out of town, and just got back last night. I last had contact with Albert in 2011, when we corresponded half a dozen times, and he sent me photos of his then flooded property. Later, in 2014, I sent him another email, but never heard back from him. I will try again today, and see if he gets back to me. Thanks, again, Tony, for his contact info. Take care, and God Bless! P.S. I, too, have a Handi Quick Boil, which I got from Albert many years ago. We did some long distance trading, and he sent me the QB, two Companion stoves, and a pre-1911 Primus #1 (if memory serves). Mine is still waiting to be fettled and cleaned up. Great stove, but not near as lovely as your Quick Boil, Robert Bruce!! Well done!
I do hope Albert is still with us and 'fighting fit'! He sent me some wonderful stoves and I must really make an effort to put them on CCS.
@Robert Bruce Hi Rob, That is one very nice looking stove. Thanks for sharing. As for firing the stove, well maybe she should be delegated to be a shelf queen. It will be up to you whether you fire her up or not, but if you do decide to fire the stove up then we would all like to see some flame shots. Thanks again for sharing. Cheers, Norman
Norman, I think it may be a shelf queen for now, too many other ones to use. It surprised me that it was unfired with manual etc. oh well at least it is an Australian stove that I do not have. Cheers Rob
