As it says on the decal, all steel, with a bit of brass and red glass for the viewing window.
    Dark blue fleck enamel.

I must admit to having a soft spot for these.
I don't know how many models there are in the range.
    Can anyone help?

Hi all, the 'A1' range had only two models, the #44 and #55. To my knowledge the range only ran from 1932 to 1939 when both were suspended from the Harper catalogue.
When I get a chance I will check through 1950's catalogues to see if the #44 was re-introduced in the 50's.
The heavy duty steel chimneys and red glass window showed quality but the main competition was the Rippingilles #555 with blue flame burners at 2/3rds the price.!
