I always wanted a brass metho burner and the price seemed right. The stove is brand new and came from Hong Kong. Cost was about $12 Australian in June 2015. The stove boiled 500ml of water in 15 minutes (indoors).

The stove and lid (with a large O ring inside.

I like the handle on the lid, a lot easier than the Trangia.

    Great price too!!!

Must look for one in NZ.

    Best regards,

    Mike.

Mike, I should have added it was via EBay, from Hong Kong.

Great review of what's evidently a good piece of kit, Iain.

Makes me want to leave my keyboard and go and brew up on an alky stove - RIGHT NOW - bye!

    Hi Iain,

Nice little burner. Very tried and trusted! Very much copied and reinvented!

These little buggers were the source of my primary infection, then CCS3 turned it into full blown stove pox!

Try an aluminium pot to bring your boil times down a bit. Stainless steel does not conduct the heat as quickly. Better still the matching Alocs pot with the heat exchange fins on the bottom.

    Cheers

    B

Apart from the "Alocs" etched on the flame control, the burner is an absolute ringer for the one included in the Esbit 985ml Stove and Cookset. Just sayin'
