Hallo, I think I can present the oldest dating print in this time on CCS. I'm the fresh owner of "....."stove . 15 years before the "A "of Primus. I'm the winner for price 10 EUR, who can tell the name of this stove is second winner and become congratulation? Dusan.
Dusan, You are presenting your 1896 as being the oldest (CCS) stove w/date or date code on it? ("...oldest dating print in this time on CCS"). There are brass pressure stoves w/1880s patent dating (which is different than what you're presenting): > not "dated" or date stamped stoves. > patent date means stove was made not earlier than that date (and can be made considerably later). I would guess there are other 1890s examples but none come to mind. There seem to be alky / spirit stoves that are a lot older than 1896, other members might comment re alkys. Re: What is it you have... show us ! I have a guess, can I be vague and just guess German? Might that center punct hint to a predecessors of say, the Juwel 6. thx omc
Hello Dusan. From what I can see it is stamped December 1896. The dot impressed at the centre of the bottom of the fuel tank reminds me of the Alexandra stove I have shown on this site and examples of early Primus and other very early stoves have the same centering dot. A result of the type of manufacturing used to cut out the bottom part I believe, leaving the dot impression. I cannot see them but there usually are concentric rings that would also be visible from the manufacturing process. It will be good to see other photographs of your stove. Cheers John
You nailed it John. Was that from memory or did you do a search? Either way, you would make a good detective. Cheers, John
You are right John. I look grounds burner in direction "ORBIS ". No other marks on stove to see. Must go in washmashine. D
Something clicked with the format of the date stamp. I restored an Aetna burner for Iani and that project familiarised me with the marque, which I knew to be an early pressure stove. Great score there Dusan! John
You mean the burner's marked 'ORBIS' @dusan? Here's the burner I repaired. And HERE's my post on the repair. John
@John No,no,I mean Arvid Böhlmark " Orbis " stove, where is made only in year 1896 ,also same year as my Aetna.Full head burner ,I think show similar to them. All the stove is wery similar, only tankcock is other. By my Aetna burner is jet missing, but tread is smaller as other jets.I have some one small jet found, had roud head and unclear jet hole dimension (maybe from car). Dusan.
Congratulations @dusan - not only an earlier date than the Aetna that is now in my possession (link), but far more complete and original Ian
