morning all ! Does anyone know which stove or pressure lamp the svea 969 meths can went with? I found one in good condition and apart from a few on Tradera webs site cannot find out much! Thanks in advance
nmp, you can not find much. I post pics below for readers. Credit to Trevor, Svea No.969 Spirit Can is found in 1960 catalog . The specific page Trevor links is "standard packings" this gets you right to the answer of which stove models it applies to: No. 1 - 5R, 150 - 155, 165, 175. I know relatively nothing about lamps but have the impression that some of the unique pour spouts are designed to accommodate lamps? Of course they are a useful accessory for stoves as well. Above models answers are re stoves and OP asks which models "...it went with?" If your asking, Was a No.969 "included" with the models listed? No. Reading the pages offering each stove (No.s 1, 5, 105/106) it is not included but is available as an accessory. Catalogs refer to "spare" parts where for this items I've said accessory. images from a recent ebayUS ad that was ended early, thx omc tag @nmp
Thanks for your excellent replies most useful thanks. I am afraid I have none of the stoves listed to go with this can apart from the No 5 But it's a nice can to have for use with any stove! Thanks @OMC and @shagratork Cheers Nick
The 969 can came as standard with the Svea 158 military stove as seen here. I have the same stove. It is mint and comes with the 969 can.
@Matthew92 I do have an Optimus 930 and getting the meths into the pre heating cup has always been a pain, I will try this out and see if it helps I don't know if I am being thick about it without the can!
I haven't checked mine but this type of can often had a false bottom which held the right amount of meths for a prime. Pouring would dispense that measure. Put the can upright & the bottom section would fill up again. Definitely a stove, as well as a lamp accessory - & of course, Svea didn't 'do' pressure lamps. https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/svea-counter-display-card.414/
