All the superb posts on the Turm Sport stove in this gallery got me interested to get mine out and fire it up. Since this was the first time for me using a modern alcohol stove I was curious if I could actually use it in a practical way. On went the coffeepot with a full load and on went the timer on the cell phone. When the pot was ready you can see the elapsed time: 5:48! This little guy goes on the next camping trip! 1280625723-turm_1.jpg 1280625743-turm_2.jpg

Great little stoves these, I have the other sport model and the touring, I like how they use meths and have no pump and are silent. Just a nice hiss.

    Umm... No offense, but...
You are "insulating" your table top with PAPER?!?!? Aluminum foil might be a better idea...

And what exactly does aluminum foil insulate against?

Foil doesn't burn as readily as paper is what first came to mind.

Yes, foil doesn't burn as easily as paper, and should the stove spring a leak while burning, it might be preferable to NOT have it setting the paper and table on fire. Foil might prevent that...

Not with the amount of other paper sitting on this table.

But it might speed up the boiling time
