Response to Instructions |
| I've got the instructions Ok, but they're on a single sheet which is bigger than my scanner can handle.
I can probably get them done for you but piecing them together from multiple scans would take to long right now. (I'm in the middle of exams)
Proceed with caution.
I can tell you that the nipple to use paraffin or petrol SHOULD be the one thats fitted. for paraffin(kerosene) you don't need either of the restrictors. I'd be inclined to test it with paraffin. (Safer)
I can tell you what the instructions say:
Filling of Fuel:
Fill max 0.3 litre (10fl oz)
Will's Note: about 2/3 to 3/4 full?
When changing fuels the tank should be emptied first.
Preheating:
Turn the regulating key to the right as far as possible. Give the pump approx five strokes to build up pressure in the tank. Put some Optimus burning paste in the cup (gasoline or alcohol may be used - do not spill)
NB Will's note use alcohol! tsp full AND mine needs about 9 or 10 strokes.
Light the paste.
Lighting:
When the paste is almost burnt out. Turn the regulating key to the left, whereby the outcoming gas ignites.
NB Will's note Allegedly! I light the vapour above the burner with a lighter or match. Some time it lights below the burner and "gargles" if it does this turn it off and back on quickly, and light it above the burner.
The "underburning" can do serious damage. Mine burns with a quiet hiss. Underburning is quite noisy.
The Stuffing Box:
If a small flame appears at the stuffing box (on the burner were the regulating key fits on) Use the enclosed key to turn to the right. Relight.
Repeat if necesary.
The alcohol nipple must not be used for kerosenne (paraffin) or gasoline.
Will's Note:
These instructions are provided without any warranty whatsoever!
If you have an accident it's your own fault! Therfore proceed with caution. Hopefully someone will double check these instructions and point out any errors. | |
