My 2 cents worth here is a light lubricating oil will not last as good as a heaver type. I always use engine oil ( avoid transmition oil) I have buggered buckets up useing this. Vasoline is good . If I was to change from what I am useing I would go to vasoline.
Grease types takes a few days to get right into the leather, Oil will get into it instantly. This is the main reason I use oil. Albert
