toasters and yet more ovens

Response to toaster

I used a toaster you are describing over a stove many years ago camping with friends and they do work well. The toast cools off fast outside so you need to get butter on the hot side fast so it melts. You also get odd looking stripes on the bread from the toaster wires.

More oven talk - Somehow I acquired a reflector oven years ago, but have never used it. I had forgotten I own it and came across it recently in my basement. There is one for sale on ebay now. Has anyone ever used one of these? They are certainly simple enough.

I bought Ross's Optimus oven on Ebay and am looking forward to firing that up this summer.

One more oven I came across locally is this one, here is the web link.

It looks to be well made. It is perhaps best suited to those of us living in axe and saw country as you need to start a small fire on top.

Lastly, Coleman ovens have come down in price. Ed's price of $30 is what they sell for here as well. Not many years ago these sold for $40. My guess is the Coleman oven is probably most like using an oven at home.
