I have noticed that most unused (never fired) stoves fetch high prices in the Asian market. It seems as though Japanese and Twainese buyers have a passion for older European and Early Coleman lanterns and stoves, especially if they are unfired. If new boxes (or nearly new) are included in the auction they draw an even higher premium. I tend to stay away if I see those id's in the bidding as I generally don't want a stove that badly. At least not yet anyway !
I can understand paying a high price to get the one you always wanted or the one that completes a set. But, these buyers seem to buy them at a high price one after another. I wonder if any of them are leaders of corporations like Toyota, Sony etc?
