SIGG Stove

Hello,
I recently purchased a SIGG stove on e-bay. I checked the website and there are no pages related to this type of stove. Anyone have any info? It burns white gas and paraffin (kerosene). Any information you can provide will be appreciated as always!
Here is a picture of the stove.

Thanks,
Chuck

Some Info..

The Sigg Firejet burns white gas and kerosin without changing the jet - it requires only moving the lever below the burner to the 'close'-position (for kerosin).
From my experience it works best on white gas as kerosin sometimes leads to an uneven, sooty flame. Priming is simple: pump to increase pressure in the tank, then open the valve on the pump head to get some fuel in the priming cup, wait a few seconds, then light it.
The weak point is definitely the (original)gasket that seals off the bottom screw: it doesn't like heat! Overpriming resulting in flooding the priming cup is a sure cause for heat getting to that gasket, so open the pump valve only for a brief moment when priming and wait a few seconds for the released fuel to reach the priming cup and the pressure in the hose to equalize.
Of course, you might as well prime using meth, Meta or similar, avoiding the above altogether - just don't let fuel get below the stove when you light it.

I replaced (after going through a few spares) the original rubber gasket with a simple automotive paper gasket - seems to hold up much better and is a lot cheaper, too.
Unfortunately opening the bottom screw is the only way to clear the jet with the pricker.
Unless you have very small fingers with additional joints, that is.

There is a little wirebraided wick that was sold seperately to be used when kero was to be used for priming; it simply rests below the riser tube and is quite messy to use. Not recommended.

When shutting down, to avoid fuel spillage when unscrewing the fuel line, simply turn the bottle around and let the fuel in the hose be used up. The wirebaided should give you enough leeway for this. Looked good on the Opti-stoves, so I had to try it...
Or was it Primus?

Overall a lightweight, quiet and effective stove.
Sturdier pump than Whisperlite.

And that's 'kerosene' for english, 'kerosin' for german...

...or 'Petroleum', since Kerosin is the stuff that jet-aircraft use.
Sorry.

SIGG Firejet

Hello,
The stove arrived today and operates just like any MSR stove. I used meth to prime the stove to save on a fuel spill and flare up. The stove came with the optional wick wrapped in wire to warm the 'generator' for use with paraffin or kerosene. Since the only way to prick the stove clean is to remove the bottom screw, fuel of that type would be used when white gas is not available. Overall for the selling price of $25.00 I feel I got a pretty good deal and now have a stove that uses an external fuel bottle.
