primus no. 71 leakAugust 31 2003 at 7:55 AM | matt cooney |
| i have an old primus 71 i was given by my grandfather and i would like to use when i go hunting next but it leaks. i have tried putting grease in the trouble spot but it simply melts away as the stove heats up. it is leaking from the tap and it looks as though it may be missing a sealing piece or something because there is a square nut with threading on the outside. it is also missing the key to turn the tap with. any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

The valve should have a nut holding it together. If that leaks than you could tighten it a bit. failing that you have to get a new seal.
The only place i know is www.base-camp.co.uk
but theyre in the UK. I don't know any suppliers in New Zealand |

If You click on Makers index to the left of this page Then Manufacturer find Primus Though there you will find Primus Instruction Sheets
including later Primus products made by AB Optimus. You will see 71 in there. I would think there is more here on Primus than any other brand also more than any other web site. Although the 70 gives you a better view. You will see where your problem is
