Are Paraffin Burners Interchangeable ?

Are the burners on the common size paraffin stoves all interchangeable between the differnet sizes and makes ?

Do the burners all share a common thread ?

This question relates specifically to the size 5 paraffin stoves. If for instance I have a old Burmos with a silent burner would a roarer from a newer Primus or Optimus fit ?

As Albert has said, yes many are interchangable, but be very careful when you try, if they don't screw down easily, STOP or you could damage the stove and burner. I've used a monitor burner in a primus 5 no problem (until I got hold of an original primus burner)
