Re: Still flaring

January 19 2004, 1:50 PM

Hi John,
Have you tried starting the stove with less pressure in the fuel bottle? Mine pulses/flares violently with too much pressure. Try starting with 3 strokes & build it up gradually once lit.

Fantastic service from Primus

A result!

I emailed, faxed and wrote to Primus with my problem. The fax generated a response: they asked me to return the stove for examination.

After a few weeks they contacted me to say they agree that there is a flaring problem and will send me a replacement stove free of charge because they can't find the cause.

The replacement has now arrived and it works perfectly. What a surprise, this is excellent after-sales service for a stove I bought 5 years ago.

What incredibly good service!

Thanks to everyone who has taken the trouble to help me with this problem, especially Albert who really went out of his way to assist.

John

1 for petrol/colemans 1 for parrafin/kerosene/diesel and possibly 1 for gases

Not flaring anymore

You're quite right Aleksi, the stove has two jets although the latest version is supplied with three jets.

The problem was that the although the stove worked very well on white gas, petrol, butane/propane, it wouldn't run on parafin (kerosene) which ever jet was fitted.

The replacement stove works wonderfully!
