Hoydy,
I picked up a well used optimus 111b at a yard sale off an old sweed. We spent the better part of the morning swappin back country climbin an huntin stories. What I did not get was the age of the stove. could sombody clue me in? Also where do I go to get info about it. I have spent many a good times fryin up trout an venison on that stove. Now I cant live without it.

Hi,
There is some history on Optimus in the Articles & Features section. The forerunners of the 111B was the Campingo No:1 followed by the No:11. The 111B was available from the late '40's or early 50's until the l970's & it's replacement by the 111C. The original patent for the drop front dates from 1927.
