Adi I make prickers out of the bristles from wire brushes.I have had good luck with the small brushes shaped like a tooth brush. I take a micrometer to the bristles.I have found .004 thru .008 thousandths. Sorry I haven't looked for metric sizes. I creat a handle from tin and crimp the end over with wire crimpers. Dan

Adi is talking about his 1955 army stove with a built in pricker not the 3 soldered leg type.
Adi sorry I don't have one but Look into the Coleman lights ( 242, 249, 247) this type I can't remember all the models that will fit. These are the lights with a nickel tank I think was called scoots. The more modern green painted tank (201 type) may fit as well, I have not tried them. You will probably have to bugger up the calmanite seal to get them out.
I sergested this I think it was to Chuck , going back a month or two ago.
Who ever it was how did you go with it? Have you tried it yet?

I got the impression Adi had the wire stuck in the jet.I was tired at the time. Frank Bebb at Old Town Coleman is a great source for old Coleman parts.http://www.oldtownyucca.com/coleman/ Frank is a great guy who will help you get that stove fixed up. Dan

Adi,
You will most likely need to find a replacement. I too broke the lever off of my Aladdin / PW 1942. Once those parts are damaged or broken the whole valve assembly needs to be replaced. At least that is how it seems to be at the moment. I just bought another stove and used the parts to create one good working model.
Trying to buy a broken one for parts put me in the same boat as other collectors who were trying for the same thing and the price of a parts one vs a working one was slimm so I waited for one that was in my price range.
It would be interesting to see if the lamp assembly Albert has referred to would work. I just never looked around for a lantern ( 242, 249, 247?) that had the same type of assembly.
