I've taken my time getting this Primus No.41 (AU, 1955) restored.

    I'm happy with the result.

Note that there is no "A/B BA Hjorth Sweden" stamped on the tank.

You can see the splines on the regulating spindle.

I hadn't noticed until I loaded this photo that a previous owner had used some pliers or similar to tighten the filler cap.

This key came with the stove, but it's not very useful. It could be for a silent burner.
Note: It doesn't have the small cutout like others displayed here at CCS.

The reason for the brass plate with "P41" stamped on it is explained here (it's a repair to a rust hole).

I really like this stove and it will be a regular user!

I am going to post the details of the full breakdown and reassembly of this stove in the Fettling Forum tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Hi Tony

It is good to see the final version of your stove tin. It was originally in a very poor condition.
It has an unusual shade of green that looks good.

The rest of the stove looks good with a nice patina.
Thank you for providing plenty of well taken photos.

As well you should be! Beautiful job and just the right amount of cleaning. Working smoothly but not down to bright brass.

Very nice work. I also like the way you left the brass.

Nice to have user version of this stove -- they have a very solid and well-made feel to them compared even to other very good stoves in the same size and power category.

Hi Tony, Healing hands work wonders, home made heat shield is neat & the wind shield a nice touch. An ugly duckling turned swan like. Brilliant work to bring the stove back to a useful future. I must stop viewing the refurbs, it starts my WANT valve overheating. Your post has been a holiday for the eyes. Thanks.Optimust. Very sorry Tony forgot to wish you Happy New Year.

    Hey, Tony,

WOW!! What an excellent presentation, and of one of the best stoves, ever, IMHO!!! Well done!! Your photos are just right, and your ideas for patching the rust hole in the case, are spot on. Like you, and many others, I consider the 41 to be top of the line, and most definitely a great design, both in form, and function!! Many thanks for sharing your's with us, and again, very well done on the fettle and presentation!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Mark
