Here is a drawing of a restrictor that i've made today for my Optimus-535 and Radius-10 to convert this stoves to run it on benzine. Matherial is brass or stainless steel. No needs to change the jets.

I am brewing clean benzine (white gas) from regular automobile 92nd by destillation, 60-120 Celsium degs boiling (there was a thread earlier). And it is a twice cheaper.

Be careful. Boiling gasoline is a risky endeavor.

I guess we are all sinners, one way or the other… But setting sins aside, I would really think twice before brewing gasoline. Not only because of the flammability, but even more because of all the carcinogen
aromatic additives. Modern car gasoline is very aggressive.

I knew Gideon side comment re boldly brewing his own white gas from auto gasoline sounded familiar, link. I'm not a fan of the process but I digress.

Re OP: restrictor to convert (No.5 size) silent burner kero to white gas.
if I interpret above drawing correctly Gideon shows us a 34 x 13mm restrictor tube w/flange.
    No holes in the side?

This is not unlike 1980s Optimus Hiker / 111T Triple fuel, regulated silent, comes with
    a kero jet installed and two 33 x 13mm restrictor tubes w/ side holes (*2 & 3), *one tube w/flange.

a restrictor tube for white gas
a restrictor tube for alcohol (alcohol jet as spare)
    an SRV filler cap

@OMC , yes, there is no holes in my restrictors but tube is 1 mm shorter than 111th's. I have one 111 hiker 3-fueled and 2 restrictors there for benzine and meth but i thought to make it myself and now it works. Hope pics coming soon.

Petrochemical refineries have a habit of blowing up and killing workers. And those are subject to safety regulations, designed by professional engineers, and operated by trained workers. No way can I consider a DIY mini-refinery (with none of the safety measures a permitted plant has) to be a safe idea, particularly if one does it inside one's home!

I am trying to understand the reason.
Is kerosene not available where you are?

He's refining white gas, not kerosene. Everything I've heard indicates white gas is usually hard to find outside of North America and Australia, but I still wouldn't want to have anything to do with refining my own, even if I lived in Europe. Just too risky.

    Exactly.
Why would he need to modify a stove that uses a fuel that he needs to refine in order to use the (modified) stove.
    Why not use kerosene.

Not wanting to be poisoned by the additives by burning pump gas may be a sensible precaution.

A suitable risk/benefit analysis may be worthwhile in this instance.

Also taking into account mortality rates amongst home distillers, either from failure of the still itself or consuming the product.

'Just because', may also be a reasonable argument.

i can get a lot of kero if i need. but my interest was to made DIY the spares to convert the kero stoves to benzine and make it possible to run on benzine too. that is what my thread about. :D/

    @gideon ,

Whilst such an endeavor might be interesting, in theory, it is, absolutely, NOT safe!! I would STRONGLY recommend that you give up on this plan, and happily burn kerosene, instead of possibly doing something that you would regret for the rest of your life!!!! If you want a stove that burns benzine, then seek out such a stove, and enjoy burning benzine in it. But, DON'T try to make your own benzine!! It's unsafe, and absolutely unnecessary!! Be safe with your stoves, and fuels, as the rest of us are. Please give heed to this advice!!!!! We do not say such things to squash your plans; we say it to keep you from doing something that could quite possibly destroy your life, and cause great harm, if not death, to you, and your loved ones!!!!!!!! Your experiment is NOT worth the possible cost to you!!!!

    Doc

@Doc Mark thank you too. by the way, i am an engineer in chemical machinery with good practical laboratory experience of chemistry in different "not safe" substances. always i know what i do. i will not recommend to repeat this, but if it is interesting for me i will do it. with all necessary safety measures, of course.

Do you follow all laboratory, equipment, and safety policies?
Or are you doing this at home, in the garage?
