    Guys

Need your help how to refill the stove of Sievert 925? I’ve unscrewed the burner and attached the adapter that is included. But could not find the correct connection from this adapter to the gas source. The one that available on our markets is little deferent. If any one has it please send a picture or name the size and thread type so i can look to manufacture it on local machine shop.

    Thanks in advance

Hi @Khalid Welcome to CCS. My main interest is vintage liquid-fuel stoves so I know little about LPG stoves.
However, the instructions for the Sievert 925 are given here:

    https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/instructions-for-sievert-no-925.41840/

    1. These tanks were never intended of self-filling and were typically exchanged for refilled tanks at the Authorised supplier’s depot.

    2. The tanks have been obsolete and out-of-certification for many (About 60) years and would need to be inspected and re-certified before refilling and use.

    3. It is possible that the authorised distributer still has access to the connectors for re-filling this tank but they are not commonly available.

If any Other CCS Members can help with guidance and help I hope they will comment.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    Hi @kerophile.75
Many thinks for sending this pictures. It will help alot. I’m not familiar with vintage stoves and just bought one. The seller not familiar also. The all steps done correctly and i stopped at final stage. The connector between the cylinder and source still unknown.

Thanks a-lot for help and we still waiting another expert

Of course! What are fellow stovies for?

First of all Kerophile is correct, these tanks are out of certification so you have to fill them yourself. The fill adapter is conveniently located on the tank. There are reverse threads on both ends of the adapter so turn it clockwise to remove it.

    1-Adapter.JPG

Next remove the burner using a 19mm wrench (spanner). Again turn clockwise (to the right) to remove.

    2- Remove Burner.JPG

Screw the adapter onto the tank turning counter clockwise (to the left)

    3 - Attach Adapter.JPG

Attach the propane fill hose turning counter clockwise (to the left)

    4 - Attach Propane Source.JPG

Then open the valve on the stove (1) and crack open the spit valve using a 10 mm wrench.

    5 - Open Valves.JPG

Start filling. When you see liquid propane coming out of the spit valve the tank is full.

    6 - Fill Tank.JPG

This is the set up I use for refilling propane tanks. The donor tank is turned upside down so liquid propane comes out of the valve instead of gas. The orange wrap is a tank heater which heats the tank increasing the pressure inside the tank. The pressure gauge shows how much pressure is inside the tank. Once the pressure has increased 40-50 psi, open the valves and liquid propane will be forced in to the tank being filled. Once it's full, close the valves, remove the adapter, and screw the burner back on.

By the way, you can buy the Soft Nose Swivel Male POL that screws into the adapter here.

The threaded fill adapter came with the stove. It was screwed on exactly where shown.

It's called a POL fitting. If you click on THIS LINK you will see several of them for sale. I made the fill hose by buying the individual components and putting it together myself.

Actually we like the vintage things. Sievert, primus & Coleman are famous brands that served for years in KSA. Not available on our local market any more.
