Hi all - once again our Newark Gathering will be virtual. I'll not say 'unfortunately' because the great thing is members from all around the world can join in.

This will be the official CCS thread for Virtual Newark 2021 so please post your pics & tales of your stove & lamp activities here or at our sister site CPL's parallel thread here.

Once again you can take part from wherever you are due to the power of video conferencing application ZOOM. Zoom is available for Mac, Windows & Linux, Apple & Android & can also be used via web browser.

The Zoom online session will be open from noon to midnight UK (BST) on 5 June. To check the time at Virtual Newark click here

The Zoom session will be here. No ID code or password required. When you join please edit your name to reflect your name on the forum so we know who you are!

Look forward to meeting you here or on Zoom on the 5th!

If you already have Zoom I recommend you upgrade to the latest version before joining the meeting.

There will be a thread available for pre meeting questions re Zoom etc. I'm not an expert on Zoom so please feel free to chip in with advice for those seeking help. (link to be posted here shortly)

It’s unlikely I’ll be able to log on this year. I’ll be holidaying in Scotland. No wi-fi and away from a phone mast for the most part. I’ll give it a go.

I will try my best but already have a family birthday party and a music event on that day.
But if I can I will be there.

Been a quiet day so far! Good to chat with Twoberth earlier.

I guess now restrictions are lifted folk are making the most of it & getting out & about. It will be good to get back to Newark next year.

I'll be taking a break for dinner shortly & will be hitting sack fairly early as at work tomorrow. I'll pop back a few times before then & leave the call running until it cuts off.

Checked in just now but nobody there. We're heading out to our season opening hike at Ingalls Creek in an hour; I'll check back before then.

    Howdy, All!

Just had a lovely 47 minutes to chat with Mr. and Mrs. @snwcmpr !! Sweet Bride joined in, too, and that was great. Sadly, we all got there too late to see any of our Brit Brothers, and others over on that side of the Pond. For us, "Newark" was a lot of fun, even though it was just two US couples in attendance! Take care, and God Bless one and all!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc and Sweet Bride

Looked in a couple or three times late arvo to mid evening but no one else there. No worries, hopefully back to the real thing next year. :)

We can always call for a zoom meet anytime. We all have our own room.
