Just ordered one came out to $21.80 to the U.S. I know I have a stove to use this on just sending out the smoke signal to Y'all!! https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256...t_main.10.58be194dAeydSv&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa
A question for @Remus1956- is this the same cap as fitted to the burner bell in this excellent thread of yours? The measurements look close for No.8rs etc, at just over £13 delivered to the UK it's a great price...
@Blackdog even down to the 5 holes down the side...measurement on my caliper say the same too 31.7mm width.
Will do have to find it first.. I think the bell is a little different if I remember on the Fire Fly.. It's been a few years I used a Silent burner off an Iwalker if I'm not mistaken I think it sat to tall above the pot rest.
Ramseybella, sorry for the thread drift but I gotta know how you fitted that modern line and gas fitting to the Firefly! I have a Firefly that would just love to know!
Loosen the old hose clamp and pull the old hose off cut the end of the new hose off slip a dog ear pressure clamp on the hose slip the new hose end it onto the Stove fuel line and clamp it down. I don't remember what size clamp it is most likely pretty small. I may have just used the old clamp by lightly prying at it expanding it to take off the pressure for reuse. The MSR Whisperlite metal fuel tube is of a larger diameter so this hose will not work on it.. I did the same thing to an old Coleman Apex II but that was a more complicated process and sort of came out Frankensteinish looking but it worked Now I can use a Primus ErgoPump and Sigg bottles as well as Isobutane and Butane with an adapter.
@Ramseybella Thanks for the clarification. I've got a similar spare Aliexpress hose and will be doing that mod. Have you tried to operate in inverted mode?
Yes it works perfect would be the same principal as liquid fuel under pressure. The Dragonfly design is different from conventional liquid fuel stoves it just gets real hot all around. I had a machinist make me a screw on adapter to replace the tube. It connected directly to the stove all it did was melt the fuel line hose within a couple minutes.
