Any loaf of sourdough is better than none! Those big holes don't have much taste either.

Home grown Corn Dogs on 413SLS (side load single) that still needs some shop time.

Optimus 99 has been with me on most of my trips lately. These shots are from December though.

Backyard reheat of beef stew I made camping using 413D with it's looong tank in 2qt DO. Used Coleman folding oven for simple biscuits. Silver oven I used camping is a Sportsman oven.

With the wife recently diagnosed Celiac, I have been trying out GF recipes. This time, fried chicken in the wok on the Enders 9060.

To this point I had only made breakfast with this stove. Time for a stress test.

I was a little concerned that the 12" pan might send too much heat to the fuel tank, but after a little over an hour at full blast, the tank was fine. The shape of the wok deflects the heat, not sure if this would work with a 12" skillet.

Only doing two pieces at a time, the stove kept the oil at the right temperature without any adjustment. In the past I have used a Trangia 25 with a gas burner for wok frying and it required regular adjustment. I found this to be much easier.

Used rice bran oil instead of canola for a change. Far less smell, and supposedly healthier. Flavour neutral and cheap too.

Very tasty, as most things are moments after being deep fried. But still good hours later when my wife got home from work.

This is fast becoming one of my favourite stoves to cook on.

Testing my to me Whisperlite international running on metho out while camping on the weekend.
I dreamed up this solution for cooking with the Omni oven when using primarily metho as a fuel and butane as an option.
Of cause one can use shellite or kerosene if needed in a pinch.
1/2 hr cooking the meat ,onions and herbs.
Shown here with veges added and water waiting to bring to a simmer.
    IMG_3807.jpeg
After being placed in the Sigg with metho burner for an hr and a half on simmer.
    Good to go.

It worked brilliantly with the Omni oven cooking scones and a roast.
    But I didn’t take any photo’s.
That being the reason I dreamed it up in the first place.
    Never mind
