Hi, Does anyone know if the doite weser and the kovea moon walker are the same stove? I can get the weser locally for a lot less than the moonwalker. Cityplus 2 also have a clone, anyone tried it? kovea moon walker doite weser Thanks for any info. Dan
They do appear to have similar features but I could not opine on the quality of workmanship. I would suggest researching for reviews and see what others have to say about the stove/s. More often than not, knock-offs have been known to be produced. Good luck Ron
That is why I am wondering about it. If it is a knock off I may as well buy the city plus 2 one which is cheaper still. I can't find on google who makes the doite stoves. Markill have one too.
I took ages to find info but I think Geeves is correct. Doite- Made in China Kovea - Made in Korea I nearly went for a vesta from STP but shipping doubled the price. Plus there is not much info on the vesta as it is new.
I had a look at the gasmate alpine remote cooker on line. Looks great! Seems to have a loop of copper to stop flaring. Looks like it would not pack very small but I don't really mind that. I guess they are cheaper too. Thanks for the idea.
True on all counts. Its also not that light as gassies go. You can invert the cartridge once its going with no problems so it will liquid feed. Dont know if it will light like this though.
Only one way to find out. Carefully, geeves, carefully. I think it should work, especially in weather a bit warmer than the vaporization point of it's highest temperature vaporizing fuel (isobutane -11.7 C, n-butane -0.5 C). HJ
Well, then it's probably safe to light it starting in inverted canister mode, although if you're in an area that is that warm, you may not have much use for inverted canister mode. HJ
The Kovea and Markill stoves are the same. Kovea supply Markill... Kovea also make the MSR pocket Rocket for MSR...
Thanks for that info John. It is not easy (for me to find it online). I can get the moonwalker for 100nzd doite weser 85nzd, Chinese ebay clone for about 40nzd. But I just got a 40% off voucher from seirra trading post so the vesta is looking good too, shipping is more than the stove but it is still a good deal. Too many choices, not enough cash
What do you want a gas stove? Or a remote canister gas stove?? Personally I dont rate the Moonalker or the clones that much at all... My old EPIgas Alpine was better.
a remote one, I have never seen a moonwalker in action but it looks like I could screw the legs off and pop it in a trangia. But I have settled on the vesta, not sure why, I just had to choose.
I bought the vesta, then read that it is made in North Korea, I hope the workers where fairly paid, makes me feel guilty...
