    Beautiful stove. Nothing beats old time craftsmanship.

    Excellent, @plumberted! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

    I’ve been looking for one of these, unmodified, (here in Australia) for quite some time...

    CPL may like to have this listing as well.

    I’d like to know whether this is original, or modified. The tank has lugs, and the burner doesn’t seem to have “breathers”.

    Cheers

    Tony

    It is only the second of these that I have seen.

    @shagratork

    Do we have a catalogue image of it somewhere?

    Hi Tony

    There is nothing in the catalogues on CCS and I have also checked the catalogues on CPL but found nothing.
    I don't even remember its model number, though I know it is very rare.
    However, David Shouksmith has one and here it is just prior to lighting.

    It was a good weekend Ray.

    I typed 'Tilley SY' into a search engine and viewed the images and got this.

    The only photo I can find is on page 79 in Jim Dicks "A History of Tilley lamps" and on page 91 it shows an illustration of F.C Tilleys' patent application dated 17th March 1921 showing the internal cleaning wire in a stove burner.
    Thanks for the comments.

    Excellent find @plumberted !
    I have one or two parts from the remains of one of these and I've been on the lookout without success for a complete one (and a complete CS56) for a few years now, great score! :mrgreen:

    I've made a couple of Frankentilleystoves from the remains of X246 guardsmen with 207 Burners, they are stabe, useful stoves, I imagine the SY is as stable and capable :thumbup::thumbup: :content:

    What a nice stove - it has indeed a special look - I can only envy you - and offer you storage space for that Tilley in my house for the next 10 years

    Very nice. Saw one on the Bay once and has been on my want list. I doubt I'll ever find one. :(
