Wow! That pump handle is indeed a bit more comfortable. The connectors seem to be....I can't seem to get the right word..... :-#

Nice design though  Thanks for sharing the pictures

Nice. The canister connector had me bumfuzzeled a sec until I remembered that they specifically designed it to assist in inverting the canister. Thanks for the detailed pics.

    Hi, Big BTU,

Thanks for adding your Denali to the Reference Section, John! I have to stop looking at your new stove, as I am getting the "wants" for one, myself!!  8)

Ron, those Coleman connectors look very similar to those used on the Coleman Apex stove systems, which I like quite a bit, actually. They are quick, easy to use, and have given not one speck of trouble in the years I've used them. For what it's worth..... Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Doc, I guess its cheaper to manufacture those types than the CEJN. In any case, I will take your word for it that its just as good as most connectors.

    Hey, Ron,

As much as I love the Optimus type connector, the one that Coleman uses has never failed me..... yet. So, I guess it's a good one. In any case, it's never let me down, and has earned my trust. It DOES look a bit cheap and hokey, though, doesn't it??!!   Still, it works, and that's what counts, in the end. I'll try to score a Denali stove, one of these days, "just because"! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hi Ron,

Like Doc says, it looks worse than it is I think. It is actually a well thought out design that attaches in a second and holds the connection firmly in place.

For my part, I think it may have been overbuilt compared to the CEJN connection. If you are fumbling with gloves on & cold fingers, I can see this would be no problem to use & secure the connection.

Doc, I just bought a second one without the box for a Buy It Now price of $79.00 (a steal IMHO) it was missing the box and directions but was brand new.

I bought it primarily as back up parts for the first which brand new in the box from the same seller cost $120.00.

The Seller told me he became an MSR rep & never used either of them but he agreed with my assessment that they were a much higher build quality than Coleman was known for and better quality than MSR.

The only thing I would say is the flame control is only about 180 degrees on the knob, from blow torch down to moderated blowtorch but when you couple that with fuel control knob & judicious pumping I got a pretty low simmer. It says to run on White Gas canister & Kero, there is a separate Kero jet included.

Flame is adjusted from the built in cleaning needle going up and down like the 111 knobs.

    Hi Big BTU

This stove looks great, I have never seen one here in NZ.

I googled the instructions and it seems the generator does not have a cleaning cable and instead is a replaceable item. What is the generator made out of? Steel or brass. It looks pretty robust. Do you think it would be hard to clean?

    Hi Ron, thanks,

I was meaning a MSR type wire cable in the generator. It looks like a brilliant stove, it is a shame it costs so much. The stove in your link has the same pump as the the coleman fyrestorm, (I think). It is not the same pump/ fuel line as Big BTU has pictured above. It does look like the the generator is brass. It seems odd to have a non serviceable part on a stove like this, I am sure it can be serviced though.

Dan you are right  I did not notice the missing T-handle, must have changed it due to cost of producing those kind. I consider owners having the T-handle pretty lucky then.

Great find! Those originally retailed well over $200 I believe. That quirky connector is very easy to connect and disconnect with gloves or mittens and you can visually tell instantly that it's connected properly. The T handle pump is also designed for gloved/mittened hands. It's one of Coleman's trademark "form follows function" designs. And it works flawlessly, as Doc mentioned above. If the o'ring fails, it can be replaced in seconds.

Most of the parts can still be purchased from coleman, the pump is well priced. Sadly the fuel bottle is discontinued, I guess it really is over for coleman in this market.

coleman are very good at the one piece stoves and multi burners. MSR are very good at remote font stoves. Maybe its better to specialise in what each is good at
