So I ordered a brass heater dome from Julian Shaw. I plopped it on the top of my Liberty rocket model 0 and lit it up. My question for those who have used similar devices is am I supposed to expect the dome to go full cherry red to radiate heat? If so about how long do you find that it usually takes? I ran the stove hard for about 20 minutes and the brass obviously dis colored but it seemed that it might just have been starting to glow but then I had to run so I shut it down.

Any thoughts? Do I just need to be more patient? (Probably)

    It works from git go!
It converts the heat of high speed air molecules ito infra red light (invisible) wich travels further.
