found this little gem today for a pittance! have been looking for one for a while, and i think this one's a keeper: a little stainless Punker - tank is in great shape, and the feed tube is also in great shape (have not pulled the the filter yet... it is missing the front support, but since i don't have a sailboat or RV, i figure this one will be good for the hurricane kit:

little to no rust and the tank looked good, so i put in some meths, then primed:

who knows how long since the stove had been used? anyway, after the flame nearly died out, i gave some 'go' and:

i imagine with a bit more use the flame will become more blue, but this one seems to work great! plenty of range between simmer and full blast... i hope to enjoy this one for some time to come...

    Nice.
You could probably make a front rail easily enough.
The small flame below the burner is a nice feature of the Punker, to help it simmer better.
They are really nice for percolating coffee.

I've aspired to one of those too, Willie. Classy design. I'll keep looking.

tks, folks! Mr. Ken, you point out something i've learned with my other two Punkers - what looks like a valve leak near the burner is not a leak! all my Punkers have a small 'pilot' light nearby! and Mr. John, i hope you find one, too... i never thought i'd find *any* classic camp[marine][kero] stoves in the wild nearby but i'm a believer now! as far as a simple Punker goes, i guess i should have been more optimistic due to the large number of sailboats here on our 'peninsula on a peninsula'

Merry Christmas to all our fellow CCS members!

Oh, it's not your first rodeo. Well, if I knew that, I have long forgot that.
Glad we let others know, before they try to 'fix' the leak.
A great stove. Stainless Steel, no less.

    Hi Willie

Your stainless steel punker looks to have found its proper owner. I find it fascinating how that happens sometimes, at least for me at times anyways. Wish you also a Merry Christmas and a grand new year!

    With Regards
