Hello all, my name is Rares and I'm from Romania. The last week I found this stove "LUX" in my grandfather's attic together with another stove that name is "SVEA". How old are the stoves? They value any money or they are scrap, because I want to sell both stoves.

Despite @Spiritburner admonition your stoves do have value. Don't throw them away. Instead list them on eBay using the photos you posted here. You'll quickly find out what they're worth as other collectors try to out bid me! Ben
Yea, I thought you were a little harsh with this Romanian noobie. He didn't ask for a valuation. He just asking if the stoves were rubbish or not. If the stoves are put up for auction I'll probably bid on them. If I win either of the stoves, I'll be glad to tell you what I paid. Ben

I've provided information on both of Rares posts. If you know how much it's worth ('value any money') Ben please let us know. What they sell for in auction is only one indicator. Have a go at this one too. The policy is there, at registration & in the FAQ because I don't believe we can (or should) offer a meaningful valuation service. Not because I'm mean. Helloo Rares and WELCOME, You have quickly joined and posted 2 stoves from Grandfather's attic with the interest of selling, you're welcome here. Spiritburner simply shared site policy but also, helpful as always, has provided you with details re BOTH of your stoves. Both of your stoves ARE (now) posted in a reference section of the site. As such it is safe to say both ARE of interest to stove collectors. Might I seriously suggest that you keep one (or at least put off selling it, one of them) either one can, today, be USEFUL to have on hand. IF in future you regret selling it there is almost zero chance you can buy grandfather's stove again and you can always sell it in future. A few positive aspects of your old stove and others like it, is they are: > collectible (to-date are increasing in VALUE) -and- > with relatively little service they LAST FORVER > they are USEFUL, as viable today as they were in 1900 (no, yours are not 1900). > they exude the beauty and craftsmanship of a by-gone era aka... they look good. again WELCOME thx omc
I don't know how much they're worth and that is not what Rares was asking. Rares just found a couple of old stoves in his grandfather's attic and wants to know if he should keep them or throw them out. That's a "YES/NO" question not a valuation question requiring a monetary estimate of their worth. I think you jumped on him unnecessarily. Good call posting the photos in the Reference Gallery. Ben
@Rares Apologies if I misinterpreted your post & if I appeared to admonish you. Either way I hope you find the other information you need. As you can see even a member who would be interested in bidding on them doesn't know what they are worth hence our policy. Thank Rares. Wasn't me.
I know what the stoves are worth to me but I'd rather not tip my hand. The policy is a good one. If they are put up for auction I'll gladly reveal my bids after they close. Ben
Hello again... I'm sorry if couse any trouble betwen you guys, I am a beginer at this... I don't know much about camping stoves.... I only searched on google what it is writen on my stove and I found your forum....which is briliant I've read your replys and now I'm sure that the stove are valuable.... if I keep the stoves for me, restored them and maybe make them work they will encrese value or it will be a silly thing to do regarding the time footprint and all that ....if I try to start the stoves I will expose my self to any danger? They can explod?
Hi Rares - you're welcome but the flag thing is automatic based on the ISP IP you are being routed through. With regard the stoves it would be hard to say if restoring these & getting them working would increase their value by more than it will cost you in time & effort to do so, especially if you first need to acquire the skills to do so.
Welcome. It is great to see someone from Romania on CCS. You have some very nice stoves and it would be good for you to keep at least one of them. With a little time, effort, advice and help from CCS members you can have your stoves looking and working as if they were new.
@Rares If you plan to keep and use the stoves, then restoring them would be fun and worth the time and expense. I doubt it would be worth doing from a purely financial point of view however. Gathering the knowledge, parts, and tools to do just a couple of stoves might prove expensive. Most stove collectors already have the tools, parts, and expertise to do the job and would generally prefer stoves in their original condition. They can then do the restoration themselves and be confident things were done right (or at least to their satisfaction). People who don't collect stoves would probably prefer to buy something new. If you do decide to restore your stoves, you'll find this website and the people who post here very knowledgeable and generous to a fault. Ben
Hi again ... after a little chat with my family I decided to sell the stoves because I don't have the time and money to invest in a new hobby . So ... can you guide me how to put them in auction? Can I do this on eBay or you recomand me other antique sites this kind of stuff!
Ebay will probably yield the widest exposure & subsequently bring you the best price if you describe them accurately. You then just need to decide a fair starting bid or reserve. If too high & no bids are forthcoming you can always re-list the auctions & have another go.
