@presscall The Australian expression “it’s a furphy” (or similar), meaning it’s a misleading rumour, or more uncharitably, bullish!t, comes the tales told around the Furphy water carts during WWI. Cheers Tony
@Tony Press I didn’t know that Tony. Poignant reminder of the context for the carts’ use. Come to think, one of my Grandad’s was a transport driver in that conflict so may have had his team of horses haul something similar. The other Grandad was a Lewis gunner and could have joined his mates at one. John
