One like this was my first Trangia! My sister gave it to me, she found it forlorn on a campsite. Best regards, Wim
that's a very old post, the use of mini trangia may have been descriptive rather than it's name, sorry I don't know what it may have been called in '08. My guess is Open Spirit Stove (google it) as that is what it is currently referred to as. Here's Trangia's description of a mini Trangia http://www.trangiastove.co.uk/Trangia-Series28.php notice link refers to Trangia 28 aka mini Trangia
Trangia Open Spirit stove. It looks like it is for a picnic, rather than a camp. The advantage of it is that you can use regular pots & pans , but you don't have wind protection. I would have bought one of these over the Mini-Trangia for stability, but I just don't see them in the UK. I am rather surprised that there isn't a Chinese knock-off of one.
The UK distributor just said they did not distribute them in the UK & couldn't give me a price. I knew that already. I wondered if they could get one or the factory would sell direct to the public.
an American ebay seller has these seller id outdoorshoppinguk price £42.25 inc postage i'm not remotely tempted
