To compliment my Trangia 27 I was after a 2.5 ltr billy. I looked on line and stumbled across a Trangia 24 cookset.... never knew they ever existed until now.. I looked on Youtube to find a guy demonstrating the Trangia 24 and all it has in the kit. I was willing to just buy the 2,5 billy can, but for a few pounds more you get quite a few extras ....

So, along with the 2.5 litre billy you can the 25 size kettle, the larger 25 size pot, pot grabber, strap and frying pan of which the billy lid fit very nicely to.

Nice set. I keep that in mind when seeing Trangia items. So far I have not gotten one.

I have an older 24 campset. Probably from the 1960s. It has the pot lifter with no holes in it. The Arno strap is blue , yellow and white. The pots have the older Trangia logo. The tea kettle on mine is a slightly smaller diameter and is slightly taller than the number 25 kettle. It also has a flat handle instead of the wire handle. Some versions of these have been around for sometime. Although not very common in the states.

I'm wondering what the cut out is for on the billy lid ... my old 2.5 billy doesn't have this feature. I thought it was for the pot gripper to fit in when the lid is used with the fry pan but it's too small and not the right shape to allow the pot gripper to fit into. Just looked at it again.... must be a steam vent, rather than a vent in the top of the lid just snip out a section around the rim. Probably so as to aim venting steam away from hands when holding the bale arm.

Very nice set, And NIB! I tried looking-up Trangia 24 on Varusteleka, Monrechaud, trangia-central.com [a fan site], and Trangia.SE. Nada on the first 3. The last one is the Trangia retail website. Nothing under T-24, but they list its descendants as the Tundra 1, 2, and 3, and -2 + -3HA [hard -anodized aluminum]. No tea kettle.
I was curious because no alco [meths] burner is included on any of them. The shaky google-chrome translation tells why:
    <<TUNDRA>>
<<As a compliment to our large kitchen, we have developed a set adapted for gas cookers. [SIC] Kittels* and frying pan are cut* to the bottom to avoid slipping on the gas cooker. A set that fits perfectly in the boat, the caravan, or the cabin. Dimensions (Hatched)*: Dia - 200mm X H - 95mm.>>

    * I think they meant "pots", "grooved" and "stowed".

I really like Trangias. I bought a burner Late '70s/Early'80s from REI. It was the perfect size for my Swiss Borde bottle cooker. Still trying to decide if I need a 27 or a 25. I recently acquired a remote gassie insert of asiatic origin, intending to experiment with its use in the flaskcooker. It's currently not stable on its base, but I can experiment with cutting down a mushroom can for support.

I also have an older set, with the two pots, larger kettle, lid, fry pan, pot gripper, blue/white/yellow ARNO strap.

One nice thing about this kit is that a well stocked 27 kit fits inside. You will, of course, need to remove the 'guts' or 'innards' of the 24 kit for the 27 to fit, but that opens up a whole lot of possibilities for cooking and packing other items.

And the 27 base and windscreen will support the outer billy pot for cooking.

The old T24 - the first camping cookset from Trangia has number 400240 today, 400246 is the 2 pot non stick version with pouch.
The lower 124 is now 400124 or 401124 in with non stick pan.
T23 - the first Trangia stove is today number 100230.
Before that was just kitchen cookware from Trangia.
