Thanks for the kind words folks.

Now I'm going to try making a set of the wire pot stands for the 199. That is what should have come with the stove as the case has the insets on the sides to mount them. I actually tried making those first and that was a fiasco and I could tell it was going to take much longer than making the X stand configuration. I've already wasted a couple lengths of extra brazing rod trying to get the angles and height right.

So I did another prototype wire pot stand out of some 115K tensile welding rod and was please enough that I made a workable pair out of 5/32" (3.97mm) music wire. Here again they are functional as a pot stand but they don't store inside the can with everything else when packing up. They're close - but no cigar.

Snwcmpr's link was a big help and the 3/8" bolt setup for bending was a winner. And he is correct in that it's a lot of tweaking involved. I didn't have a close fitting tube to use when bending and that would have helped alot. I hope to eventually make a pair out of SS but I won't do it without a real pair to copy and have a proper fitting length of tubing to facilitate the bends. Winging it has it's place - but this wasn't it.. :)

    Nice.
It did help to have a pair to copy.
