Doc, it would seem more like "beating a warm spot on the ground where a dead horse once lay"...

I know this is an older thread but I just picked up a complete set for $15 Bucks yesterday local. Yes a little used and Dirty but easy to clean up, and Yes they are that cool. I had a spare Svea to fit in it.

    Howdy, All,

@Jeffrey Walker , you got a great deal on that Sigg set and SVEA 123! Very well done! For my money, both the Sigg Tourist, and the Trangia stove systems, are wonderful bits of kit, and a "must" for stove users! Enjoy your new system, and please post some photos when you get to use your set "in the wild"! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

I have two sets both from local the thirft shop one has Sigg Tourist Stamped in the frypan/lid and included a 123r it runs perfectly. Its definitely a Vintage set up and by today's standards its heavy. My second one has no markings so maybe its a knock off although the thickness and edges are identical.
Its a great windscreen set-up and stable. I use it as a double boiler for lower heat cooking that seems to work pettty well.

For me the coolest thing is its appears to be a predecessor to the modified Primus 210 stacking cook set used on Everest. A post by Spirit Burner shows the earliest one dated 1952 so perhaps it influenced the Primus Everest set up as used in 1957 and described by Sir John Hunt.
