Well I finally found some time to take a few pics. Think I'll be stumbling around in the dark tonight. The 'flame shot' Rice cooking for the curry, Mmmm... Some good news for those who we're there, @presscall, @Spiritburner @kev_c is the van is fixed. One set of points and a condenser later and I can use 5th gear. Another bonus is I found the Radius silent cap snuggled in the bottom of the rear door. Few other photos I'm afraid as @Big Si was such great company.
Looks like there were more lampies than stoves there or was just the sheer number of lamps they brought with them. Ha Ha
@nmp, I tend to find I only need a couple of stoves lit to make a good meal. Lampies struggle to find their way around in daylight and have a couple running just in case. My currently only functional lantern as the pressure ones didn't want to play this weekend. Oh and there's a stove in there somewhere.
@kev_c cheers kev, the trip back down the Fosse Way will be a little less embarassing then the journey up. A couple of tasty climbs that I struggled with on the way if you know the route.
@Simes Glad the Rascal got fettled and disgorged the Radius cap from its rear door as a ‘thank you’. Good communal fun though, searching an acre of field, eyes downcast ... John
No stove wanging this year. I kept the wanger in the van but I cleared it out before the event & forgot to put it back in. However i was already undecided whether to do it this year as most attendees are of a certain age & many have ailments & afflictions. I may have to think of some gentler challenge for next year. Ideas?
@Simes what was the problem with the rascal sounds grim? I must confess to owning a half dozen or so lamps as well as 60 odd stoves!
@nmp, lack of use really, probably stationary for nearly 2 years before I bought it last Sept. Condenser and points were changed at Newark but is still missing somewhat, it gets a new distributor cap tomorrow. A decent service wouldn't go amiss either, and I haven't checked all the plugs. A 'work in progress'. It's great fun to drive mind.
