Just got this paraffin stove, Governor yesterday, nice British sellers willing to ship many of my new stoves overseas to me. This took some work since it is so small, along the status of a Campus 3. Tiny pump cup and shaft, complete with travel cap, chain too. I had to make a pump cup, old one was hard, from past experience, that hard doesn't improve. Thought it had a wick, seems I had read that about another Governor in this section, looked like something in the fount. John, @presscall questioned me over that in a PM I had sent him. I was afraid to remove the stubborn vaporizer, so resigned myself to the facf this stove would only be a possession. I was able to get the pump to work, had to work on the NRV a second time, but at least it came out, lucky I had a NRV tool small enough. O-ring for the fuel cap. I made a leather pump cup, my first attempt, a little wrinkled on the open end, but works. First firing after the fettle netted a pulsing, half yellow flame. Added a windshield, the pulsing cleared up but came back when the windshield was removed, so had a thought to add some mesh in the vaporizer since this used kero, and there was very little area to vaporize the fuel. I had the perfect size in my parts tray, measured the depth and did not have to cut any material off. No flare up or issues when I fired the stove up again. Orifice in nipple throws the flame to one side more than the other but works. No shelf queen. Next to my Lamb I got a couple months ago. Duane
It’s certainly a good example Duane, with a tin/box in great condition too. Mmm, the wick. Not sure it has one, since a pickup tube would be all that was necessary for a kerosene stove with a tank pressurised by a pump. What I’m sure of is that the self-pressurising gasoline Lamb stoves have a braided steel wire wick, played on in advertising as never needing replacing. John

Thanks Alex, a little figuring out on this one. Some back to basics. NRV's can sure throw you a curve, wonder if there is a leak, is cup making a seal, NRV sealing or spring too stiff or hanging up. Duane

Hi Ben, Maybe at some Cali event or Mojave Gathering again, some young bucks putting on Coleman campouts. Been watching to see if any desert goings on. This doesn't have much of a usable function, more a piece to talk about, fount gets hot pretty quickly, the fuel cap washer was burnt to cinders or whatever was used, all charcoal I scraped out. Pump shaft is the size of about a 12 penny nail, really down sized stove. Need to see what would counter thermal feedback. Since fount can be pressurized with the pump, could set in water or pour water over the fount. Mesh in the vaporizer seems to be working, but any breath by it makes the flame yellow for a second. A stove where replaceable parts will have to be fashioned except the NRV. Duane
