I just brought that from eBay. Never used. It cames in his original box and inside I got the tank, with the tag on it, the silent burner with auto ignition tube, one general instruction paper, a smaller notice on pink, the pegs, the top grill and a small paper bag that I did not opened in witch I suppose it is a pricker. Does someone know what was the whole content of the original box? Do I have all the accessories or something is missing? I will post the images from the seller, perhaps tomorrow I will take some photos and some scans from all the papers and the tags on the cardboard box and I will post them.
The tank is stamped AT HZ. That is the year 1954?

Indeed, it is a once in a life time occasion. Can you tell me AT HZ means year 1954?

AT as a date code indicates 1954. We're not really certain what the additional letters mean -- possibly related to quality control. It would be nice to see a photo of the "AT HZ" so we can be sure it is the date code.

Nice stove. Congratulations on your purchase. Welcome to CCS.

    Congrats Godehart,
Yes, your latest treasure is a
    '54 no.54
how cool is that ! A NOS very complete in box example, it doesn't get any better than that as a reference post. IF you could, more pics of stove details would be a welcome addition :thumbup:.

Your instructions and pink insert relate to No.51 & 54, yours being shipped in '54, we might learn something from your instructions (library has a '37 and by '57 it's all quite different iirc). Might you, please, post clear images of instruction pages?
    thank you omc

PS Re Primus dated instructions, example: in this post, if you look at bottom of page 2 of the No.s 51 & 54 instructions you see: " 25,000. 11. 37. 1889 " printed by Ernst Westerbergs Boktryckerf A.-B. Stockholm
we gather from that, that the 37 indicates the year (of the instructions).

I have a Primus 51 with the same flat fuel cap and air tube with bleed screw. They made this style only for a short period around 1954. 51's and 54's of other years of manufacture were made with the conventional vented fill caps where a chain was attached from the vent screw securing a reserve cap. The reserve cap is a plug to close off the fuel tank when you remove the burner assembly to collapse the stove for travel. I don't see this part in your pictures. It would seem this part would be essential to the kit but I don't recall ever seeing a flat cap/air bleed model 51 or 54 with reserve cap. It would be of interest to know if yours is present.

Beautiful example of a '54 Primus 54. Welcome to CCS!

    Ray

Hi @Godehart . It is interesting that your Primus No.54 has the code AT HZ.

As you have been informed the AT indicates a manufacturing date of 1954 but we do not yet know the significance of the HZ, although it is seen on some Primus stoves.

    From this very old thread:

Some more recent comment on date codes:

Primus No.51 stove date of manufacture

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Hello, I came back with photos and scans of different papers and tags. I have also high res scans but they are too big to be uploaded. I was able to recreate the pattern from the tape wrapping around the box. While scanning I was noticed that the instructions was printed in 1954.
    Enjoy!

The reserve fuel cap was not present in my box. I don't know if it was originally provided or not, that's why I would like to know see some kind of checklist of the box content of a similar item.

The detailed content you've just added is very much appreciated, thank you so much :thumbup:.

re "I would like to know see some kind of checklist of the box content" ?

I do like the way you operate.
This is awkward and I do apologize. As much as we do very much appreciate your post and the checklist you seek is on site but, catalog view requires subscription : ( <-- I support this policy and feel it would be wrong if I open posted your catalog page / parts list.

I suggest w/o regret for anyone interested in camp stove to subscribe.
That said (and i'm rushed at the moment) if this is only answer you want, your stove appears at a glance to be complete.

"The reserve fuel cap was not present in my box"... correct.
    1955_54reserv.JPG

Per 1955 catalog, apparently applies to your 1954:
Burner hole lid (reserve fuel cap) No.4311 is available separately, is not a standard issue item for your 54.
    thx again omc

Hi @Godehart . If you were to become a Subsciber to CCS and pay a very small annual fee you have access to Catalogues and parts listings such as this:

    upload_2019-8-7_21-9-48.jpeg

You will note that the reserve cap #4311 (secured to the tank by a chain) was an optional extra for those who wished to collapse their stove for taking camping.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    @Godehart

The “fuzzy thing” is the wick inside the lighter.

    Welcome.
