Two basic versions of the Italian 'Ansam Wolf No.2' 2-pint size stove already appear in the CCS gallery: internal and external NRV variants. This thread is to illustrate points of difference between 3 different variants of the external-NRV version of the stove. There does not seem to be any obvious way to either very precisely date, or even date-order these 3 variants. Both the external-NRV example linked to and illustrated above and a second example illustrated here share all of the same characteristics except the shaping of the tank bottom. The original example has a conventional tank base construction (left below), the new example has a base which protrudes significantly below the level of the base-side seam (right below): A third variant shares the more normal tank base construction with the first one above, but has a very tiny pressure release screw finger tab, a very unusual filler cap diameter, and a very cheap and basic pump end assembly: The calliper photo shows the outside diameter of the odd Ansam Wolf filler boss compared to a standard no.1 filler cap, this odd boss is nevertheless larger in diameter than the smaller size fitted to1 and 1½ pint stoves. Unfortunately the correct odd size filler cap is missing and is not going to be easily substituted! All 3 variants used the Ansam Wolf's own branded standard no.1 size burner:
The odd size filler fitting on the variant of the Ansam Wolf No.2 which has the tiny pressure release screw tab turns out to have the same thread as used on metric 15mm pipe fittings. Mid-way between the otherwise almost universal standard 'large' and 'small' size filler caps. This discovery has made it possible to cobble together a temporary first stage in creating a viable replacement for the missing original:
A further update on that missing odd sized filler cap (see above). A substitute has now been found - the Czech-made Meva No.1 uses this same odd size filler boss and cap!! Possible evidence of some collaboration or parts out-sourcing between the 2 brands at some point?
