I've been planning on using QR codes to label my own collection, you can get a surprising amount of data in them this could provide make, model, year, brief history etc. etc
Excellent display! Great variety as well, showcasing the many different types of stoves that were available at the time.
So, one of my customers dropped this off today. When he saw my display, he decided it was the best place for his unwanted old stove. Seems to be in really good shape, except the spindle that the control knob attaches to is slightly over tight, as it just barely fits through the access hole in the side. I think I can fix it when I get it fettled. Any idea how old it is?
Hi @Steviebear , i believe that your recent acquisition is around the same age as this example: Optimus No.8R Embossed from 1958/59 Check out the features listed in the text to see how they compare: Regarding the line-up of the regulator knob with the burner; check that the fuel supply pipe from tank to burner is not slightly bent... Best Regards, Kerophile.
Hi, your stove appears to have a mini-pump and the required special tank filler cap: 8R Factory Pump??? Best Regards, Kerophile.
Yes, I did notice the filler cap didn’t seem original, I assumed it was changed out to be able to use the pump with the stove. I also concluded it was somewhere between 1958-1962. Thanks for helping feed the addiction!
