My parts kit came for my Nova, I am still working on my Trangia conversion and hope to have photos posted later this week. Is there supposed to be an o ring where the fuel line connects to the pump? Mine did not have one, but without theo ring the stove would leak. One of the o rings in the parts kit seemed to be sized right. I didn't get the stove new so I don't know if it came with an o ring there.
In Optimus Nova (CEJN-connector version(=The better version)) there is an o-ring, but not in male but in female part of the connection. This thread gives you the full information how to replace o-ring on female connector: CEJN fitting strip-down

The plot thickens. Thanks for the wonderful photos and tutorial, I have to take apart my connector. I was looking at the Basecamp's website. Is there any means to determine the year my Nova was made? A date stamp anywhere?
No date codes in Optimus stoves. I remember that there was some thread/post about different Optimus Nova versions, but I cannot find it...
John, in the second photo of your CEJN tutorial, are those two o rings the same size? My Nova repair kit came with a variety of o rings of various sizes. I hope to have time tonight to take apart the coupling. I did check with Brunton and narrowed down the time frame of my stove to pre 2005. That helps if I need to order bits from Basecamp.
I think that Nova spares kit doesn't contain o-rings for CEJN connector. Connector is not meant to be serviceable for general public (other than REAL Stovies ). You might need to look proper size o-rings from a shop that sells them.

This gets more complicated by the hour. Where does one with no mechanical aptitude go to buy o rings? Size? Material?
True. It’s a case of seeking equivalents of a fuel-proof material - check the specification. Auto sources rather than plumbing.
If you take old one with you to the shop they measure the size and find correct size replacement (on some stores they are not up to that complicated task...)
This has dampened my enthusiasm to attempt to take apart the coupling. I need to fire up the stove again and verify where the leak is coming from. "A man has to know his limitations."

@alanwenker, A few years ago I purchased some extra pump fittings from a source in the US for $12 each. These were actual CEJN fittings not some cheap aftermarket copies. As soon as I can find the seller I will let you know. Mike
@alanwenker The company I bought them from was overstockindustrial.com the part number was 10-141-1451. When attempting to go to that website now you get redirected to hydrotech.com. I would call them to see if they are still available. I have used these on the older pumps without issue. I will add for those adventurous types that you cannot convert the new style black/green pumps to this fitting without re-tapping the threads in the pump body. If it's the hose/male end that is causing your leaking I'd check for nicks. Mike
Small word of caution when purchasing Cejn couplings from hydraulic / industrial suppliers - as far as I can remember, the O-rings inside the coupling were of viton custom fitted for Optimus only. Standard industrial couplings had nitril or other rubber material. At least "back in the days". BR/ Staffan
