Update I’m back working on this Turley & Williams b@stard. I’ve nearly got the right hand burner sorted, but it’s still leaking vapourised gasoline from the back of the nipple. Muffler sealant is required the next time I go out under COVID-19 restrictions. The left-hand burner is leaking from the fuel-control-to-tank connection. I will fix that in daylight. Test fire (note the proximity of the fire extinguisher): Cheers Tony @presscall @teckguy_58
Yes, Jon. This is the most contrary stove (or lamp) I’ve ever worked on. But I’ll get the b@stard working if it kills me (it won’t!). Tony
Hi Tony, You have made significant progress getting your stove running. I'm sure you will be able to beat this old B*stard into submission sooner then later. Cheers, Norman
@Tony Press perhaps when yours is finished you’d like to fettle mine.Although postage costs would be a little high considering the weight of these beasts. Maybe I’ll just leave it in the depths of the cupboard where it is.
@Matthew92 Once you’re free of COVID-19 restrictions you could drive out in the middle of the night and leave it on someone’s doorstep (like people do with zucchini’s when they grow them). Tony
One day I’ll give it the love it probably deserves. It’s so long ago I can’t remember what problems I was having. I seem to think the pressure was dropping quickly and I think I broke something when I had it to bits.
That's interesting, I've just realised your lid opens from the end like the later number 3 stoves. Mine is hinged at the back and held up with chains. Here's as much as I can see of it when I reach fully extended into the back of my storage cupboard with my phone.
I'm slowly getting there. I've found a source for the gasket material I need but I won't get there until Friday so I'll have a couple of T&W respite days for my mental health. Cheers Tony
