I just bought an assortment of unmarked regulated burner jets and needles. The seller said that as far as he knew they were all spec'ed for paraffin burners. 5 of the needles fit 9 of the jets. 3 (used) jets are too small for any of the needles. The remaining 13 needles are only just too big to fit the 9 jets and definitely too big to fit the 3 smallest jets. Can anyone please cast some light on this conundrum? Is the jet and needle size of e.g. a Primus 535 burner different from that of an Optimus 11 or a Radius 43? I admit I'm not familiar with the various burner model numbers.
Hi @phaedrus42 To attempt to solve your problem I suggest that you provide some measurements. Do you have a micrometer to allow you to measure the diameter of the cleaning needles? Once you have measurement of a needle you can try it in the jets and estimate their diameter. Best Regards, Kerophile.
Hi, here are the dimensions of the cleaning needle used in British Military No.12 stoves: BRITISH MILITARY No. 12 COOKER – CLEANING NEEDLE. The Optimus No.111 cleaning needles also fit Miliatry No.12 stove burners. Best Regards, Kerophile.
@kerophile , Thanks, I'm sure I can measure a few needles with a borrowed one and work it out from there. I have enough stoves to make a useful comparision, I hope...
