Have fixed a couple of plastic pump cracks with this: Chemical Metal Last one is a SIGG Firejet pump - its more than 8 months now - and its still working.
Too All, I just checked the 10 pumps I glued last year and none of the cracks have opened back up. The J-B Weld Plastic Bonder seems to work well in this instance. Also I'm gluing up one that had 3 larger cracks but not as bad as @presscall 's "here". That pump will be used extensively throughout the next year and with it a companion fire extinguisher that I always take with me. Hopefully @skorpiius will remind me for a status next year. Mike
@HunterStovie Did you use the jb weld or UV stuff? Did you pull the threaded insert out before fixing or just fill and cover cracks from the outside? Were you able to fix the one you cut into? I’d like to fix mine but don’t want to rely on it unless it’s bombproof. Thanks
@fighterthiefmage The J-B Weld Plastic Bonder has worked just fine, none of the cracks have reappeared on any of the pumps that I fixed. That being said the cracks were superficial and did not go all the way thru and none on the fixed pumps leaked before I filled in the cracks. I just wanted to keep the cracks from getting worse, and the pumps work just fine. Mike
Thanks for the clarification Mike. I was hoping for confirmation that a leak was fixable. Anyone else?
Ask and you shall receive. If they are still good 2 yrs later I'm going to attempt this in Sept with my 2 pumps.
Here is what my Apex pump crack looks like. This one never leaked and here it is in action last month. I never was a fan of this type stove with its detached fuel bottle and it has new owner now. Stay safe
@skorpiius None of the cracks have reappeared or new cracks developed. I recently glued 2 more pumps. I will also point out none that I've glued were as bad as @Daryl 's Those I broke down for spare parts. Right now I'm trying to find the stove that was my user, not sure were I put it. Mike
