    Greetings, All,

    Here is a stock Coleman Peak 1 Propane stove, for anyone interested in such things. It is listed with an 8,000Btu output, which is excellent. I've never fired it, but would believe that it would be both powerful, and also offer great simmering. Might have to fire it up, "just because". As I know that a few of our intrepid CCS members have come up with adapters for such stoves, it may be possible convert this stove to use backpacking cartridges of ISO-butane fuel.

    Thanks for looking, and if I should decide to go ahead and fire this one up, I'll most certainly post the photos here. Take care, and God Bless!

    It makes sense that Coleman would offer that option given their propane bottle product.

    @Doc Mark

    I have a few of those from my "I did not know any better propane days". Just kidding they are actually pretty good stoves with one exception. the low is not as low as an apex can go. And I actually melted a plastic table top. I did back-pack with one once and saved the day when my friends 508 did not want to work.

    Ha,ha, it was the same for me. My dad was sent to Spain for a few years when I was a teenager. The Spanish very low taxation on butane, made it the cheapest source of energy there (I believe that it still is). Camping Gaz R 901 butane refillable cylinders and a Campingaz 1Feu R (ref: 27127) dominated my late teens, as I did not care for weight as much as I cared for money. Then Coleman started importing the small US propane cylinders into Europe and I bought this stove, thinking that 100% propane was the best Winter alternative to the 100% butane of the R 901 refillable cylinders.
