It looks like a kerosene stove to me. My guess is that the diaphragm he's referring is in the upper fuel chamber. As you screw the top down the diaphragm is pushed up. This decreases the space in the fuel chamber and increases the pressure. It looks a little top heavy and unstable but it's an ingenious design. Ben
Got one ! just yesterday, posted here. Called a Caltex tower stove It's made in South Africa Anyone know how it operates?
rubber seal in side, gets pushed up to increase pressure, by turning middle bit, I think that is a good idea, it must have some kind of worm screw inside, wont one, but not at the prices I have seem
Morning fellas Thanks a ton... One more ----- Is the design "Presbar" and thus the one I have is made by "Caltex" Or is the design "Caltex - Presbar"
Caltex is an oil company name. I would guess their name was simply their branding on a stove sold through their outlets.
I’m kinda looking at it from the “Tower paraffin” perspective. “Tower paraffin” was a brand name under Caltex South Africa, so, never having seen this type of stove, I assumed that it was a product of Caltex --- But it is actually the other way round, it is designed by PRESPAR and the generic group is “tower stove” Would that be correct ?
