I have a Grasshopper I bought in the early 70's. Its a propane model where the propane bottle is the 3rd leg. You control the propane by twisting it where the propane bottle attaches to the stove.

It says Primus Sweden on the stove and has a number 201.724030 on the stove head itself.

I cleaned up the jet holes with welding tip probes and the only thing it needed was a new rubber gasket in the head which fortuneatly I had arch punches available to make the gasket.

If anyone can tell me anything about this stove I would be grateful.

@Mr. W , what you have is a Primus 2260, one of the better propane gas stoves made for camping!

It was made in two variants, early, with two wire brackets to support your cook ware, and fold out of the way when not being used, and the late version, with a sheet metal "X" on the burner to support your cookware.

I love mine here, no stop at REI or specialty (read trendy!) store, stop at a hardware store, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. and pick up fuel that works in arctic conditions, unlike most gassies!

I have the 2 supports that fold so I must have the early model you mentioned.
Great stove still works like a charm. It’s lasted through the trials of my youth, I dragged it around the world while in the military and it sat safely stored away a bunch of years and using it now with my grandchildren.
