Ever since I was inspired by the post here by @kerophile many years ago, I have 'collected' any cheap heavy wire gizmos that I find. This is a plant pot holder bought for 50 pence at a charity shop (before lock down 2). I cut off the bottom just below the next ring, leaving the 'legs' which just fit across the pot stand bars of an Eleventy-one. allowing me to securely use my coffee maker With the leg bottoms leveled at an angle. it can be used as a stand to protect surfaces from the hot pot, and it fits nicely into the 111 tin. and I still have four different rings left to make other trivets. Thanks George for the tip all those years ago.
Hi @Twoberth That is a neat addition. Here are a few more improvised pan-rings: New trivets for stoves. Ibrik friendly type. Best Regards, Kerophile.
Nice pot rest, @Twoberth. Isn’t it funny how we wander around junk shops looking for things to cut up into something else. There’s another pot rest thread here: DIY Pot stand for Opt. 111 Cheers Tony

Images of stovies with tapes and calipers in a market, while bemused shoppers look on would be something to see... ....Arch
