This is a Prentiss Wabers Model 409 two-burner stove. When I saw the photos before I bought it I thought the paint was cracked and would need to be stripped and re-painted, but it turned out to be an all original green crackle enamel finish with black veiling. Based on information found elsewhere on this forum is was made in 1937. Here is a close-up of the paint, though much of the veiling appears to be worn off: ID tag: Tank stencil:
Yup, I have a couple of those in that same color and texture. Kinda funky, but cool. Thanks for sharing, Sam
@Robert Wills I paid $3 for mine, from an antique dealer,,, we both agreed $3 was a fair price for one.
How cold are you? How far from civilization? Is it raining or snowing? In the right conditions, it might be worth quite a lot. ....Arch
Here is a follow-up photo of the restored black veiling. I also have a new post with more complete photos on my blog. I have no idea what the stove would be worth, but it is a good runner and have been using it lately.
Ah, Poloron is the manufacturer not the stove model name? The pump look like a Thremos lantern pump and the plastic air valve wheel looks like a Preway. I was wondering if this was made by whoever bought Preway. Nice little stove, though. I've never seen one in person.
