Hello to all Stove Gurus, and good morning, afternoon and/or evening! Newly registered user here to this great Forum! I have been running across this Forum for roughly the past year? and finally joined due to the wealth of knowledge shared by all and because of this have made my 1st purchase of an Optimus 8R (yet to be received). My question to everyone is, has anyone either heard of or made purchases on a site named Xdvson and was it good or bad?

Appreciated Hiker! It's that it looks like a "too good to be true" site regarding their stove pricing, although they appear to be International. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding.

Well they seem to ship only to America, Most of the stuff is typical cheap new but there seems to be a few gems there that could be worth a look through. I dont know how a online shop can offer new junk at average to high prices and classic stoves at well below ebay prices. (for starters new in box 2 burner coleman $76) Also website looks hastily built.
It might be legit but it has that old fish smell about it

Thus my delayed concern....as I jumped on the opportunity as would a young man upon an inviting, voluptuous woman. Excitement and anticipation overrode common sense .

Welcome to CCS, you've chosen a nice stove in the 8R.
I've no idea about the site you mention not one I'm familiar with.

    BEWARE!!

I reckon they are dodgy but that's just an opinion. They have an address in Alabama but a quick google suggests the address should be in California - on a trailer park

    1045 N Azusa Ave Trlr 67 ,covina,Alabama,91722,US

    But that's not all......

    Capture.JPG

They list this stove for sale for $66.25 at:
Vintage 1979 Dead Mint New in Box! Coleman Sportster 502 Single Burner Stove USA

    coleman.jpg

Yet the same stove is for sale at $399 on ebay in a totally different part of the USA from a user name that bears no relation

:) A styrofoam type cooler is in the $70 USD range, most stuff seems $50 to $70 something. The wine glass girl looks nice. :)

Looks ok for $50.95 with free shipping for over $50. Very dodgy I think.

True, thinking I jumped before looking and hoping it'll turn out ok. I also e-ml'd them today requesting an update, and seller info for details regarding stove. I know I probably won't hear anything until Monday, but I'm trying to stay in their "radar" in regards to sale. Fingers and toes crossed, LOL!

    Yes. Some, shall we say - momentous? - decisions I've made could be summed up in these tragic words;
    "Well, it seemed like a good idea . . . at the time . . . "
    :(

But y'know what they say about "let he who hath not sinned" - you'll get no brickbats from me, Sleepnrkn :-#

But let us know what happens; we're all sittin here with bated breath!

Roger that Gunner! Am not worried of should'a, could'a, would haves because that's how lessons are learned in life ;). Just hope it's not an overly hard one.
On a side note, I'd like to express my respect towards everyone in the Forum because of the Knowledge found here. I've always been a believer in "Knowledge shared is knowledge gained!". I've seen information, assistance, and stove specific details being passed along (before joining) and am very impressed! I know I'm in great company and glad to have joined!
Although untested "in the field", I do also have a Tomshoo wood gasifier and a Trangia alcohol stove purchased from Amazon. The latter because of comments found within the Forum, and the gasifier via other research. Hoping to go camping with my son someday to burn them in, so to say.

After seeing Spiritburners post above I would be more worried about them staying on your radar.

Its impossible to go wrong with a triangia. Tomshoo though is very cheap Chinese. It will probably work fine but you might need additional assembly to make it work

They had so many super cheap desirable stoves listed that I am not surprised.
