This is a gasoline VOLCAN J3 stove, produced in Badalona (a village close Barcelona) around 1950. The most important thing is the pre-heat system with a secondary pipe. Today it's a windy day. I've checked the stove with a windshield. It runned good! The pre-heat system made a short blue flame. Maybe the tank should be fuller. Let me show you how that stove was when I got it: There was a lot of leaks, more than my patience can tolerate. At least, I sealed some threads with teflon film. The secondary circuit picks up gasoline from the tank through this mesh: In a short time I will do the Tea test.
@pau-i-amor That is a really fine stove you have there. At first I thought it was an alcohol stove. The pre-heater is a really nice feature. You did an outstanding job getting it sealed and cleaned up. I really runs well and no pumping required! Congratulations! Ben
External pump, NRV in the fuel cap surely @pau-i-amor? You’d wait a good while (like, never) for that fuel tank to self-pressurise on a pre-heat.
@presscall , @z1ulike Yes, external pump is needed. Tank is too far from the burner for self-pressurise. And the NRV is in the fuel cap. It's very simply. A little ball push up for tank air pression.
I have new onehttps://youtube.com/shorts/23TB_c9g4Gw?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/AN0AfNZV9Zo?feature=share
It is always an interesting journey when members show a “new” stove. Very nice! Thank you for sharing.
